The technology available includes a wall mounted display, USB camera, and USB speakerphone system. Users must provide their own laptop, as a computer is not installed in the classroom.

Power on all necessary devices

  • Power on the display using the handheld remote control.
  • Power on the Yamaha speakerphone system by pressing the power button (Green = Power On). It takes about 30 seconds to fully power on.
  • Check the black box mounted on the wall (corner of the room, left of the display). It should already be powered on. It should be set to HDMI1. Note: Do not turn off this device when you leave the room.

Present from a laptop

  • For laptops with USB-C connections:
    • Ensure both the HDMI and USB cables from the wall box are connected to the USB-C interface/adapter.
    • Connect the USB-C adapter to your laptop
  • For laptops without USB-C:
    • Disconnect the HDMI and USB cables from the adapter and connect them directly to your laptop.
  • Your laptop should now display the content of your screen on the Display
    • If your laptop does not automatically detect the output devices,
      • Check to make sure the controller mounted on the wall is powered on and set to HDMI1
      • Check the display settings on your laptop are set to mirror your desktop
      • Unplug and plug in the USB-C adapter again

If presenting to Zoom participants outside the classroom

  • Launch Zoom Meeting from the laptop 
  • Ensure the following Microphone, Speaker, and Camera settings are selected for Audio & Video when joining the meeting:
    • Audio Input / Microphone = Yamaha YVC-1000MS
    • Audio Output / Speaker = Yamaha YVC-1000MS
    • Camera = AW-UE4 (the camera mounted on top of Display)
  • To control the camera's zoom in/out capabilities, use the light gray handheld remote control.
