FERPA and Re-using Class Recordings
Please be aware of FERPA guidelines around preserving students’ right to privacy that prevent the reuse of class recordings in a different section of the course or in a different semester (e.g., reusing a fall semester video in a spring class). Reuse is only allowed if students have been anonymized in the video recording (very time-consuming) or all students have granted written consent.
NOTE: Beginning in January 2025, Zoom recordings will be automatically deleted after 180 days
To delete your Zoom videos follow the steps below:
-
Sign in to Zoom through our single sign-on at https://login.moravian.edu/
-
On the left sidebar, click Recordings.
-
To obtain a list of all of your recordings, click on the Export button in the upper right corner of the Cloud Recordings window. This list will tell you how many times the video has been viewed, the last viewing date and the size.
-
Select the recordings you no longer need. If you select all the recordings on a page (usually 15) you will see another button that will allow you to select all of your recordings.
-
Click the Delete Selected button.
-
Click Yes to confirm and move the recordings to the trash. (Please note that deleted recordings will remain in the Trash for 30 days. You will receive an email 7 days prior to the permanent deletion of a recording and may recover any recording that is still in the trash.)
You may also opt to adjust your Zoom settings to Delete cloud recordings after a specified number of days.

Access your Zoom account from the single sign-on platform at https://login.moravian.edu/
