Symptoms

One-way audio (caller can hear you, but you cannot hear them, or vice versa).

No audio at all during a call.

Microphone not picking up sound.
Possible Causes
-
macOS Privacy settings blocking microphone access.

Incorrect "Start calls with" preference in Jabber.

Incorrect input/output device selected within Jabber settings.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Open System Settings on the Mac.
-
Navigate to Privacy & Security.
-
Select Microphone.
-
Toggle the switch to Enable for Cisco Jabber.

Open the Cisco Jabber application.
-
Click the User Icon (located on the left) to open User Preferences.
-
Select Preferences.

Select the General tab.
-
Verify that Start calls with: is set to Cisco Jabber.

Select the Audio/Video button.
-
Select the correct device for the speaker and microphone you intend to use.

While in an active call: Click the Speaker/Volume icon on the call control bar.

Select Options to bring up the Audio Preferences window.

Verify that the correct speaker and microphone are selected for the current call.
