Google (Gmail, G Drive, G Calendar, etc)
You will retain access to your Moravian Google account for one year after graduating. After one year, the account will be deleted, so all data and services should be migrated to another account before the one-year point.
Canvas
To save/capture all of your hard work from your years here at Moravian, please click the Canvas Student Guide on How do I download assignment submissions from all my courses? You can store these files in another storage area.
Microsoft One Drive
Please use this Microsoft One Drive guide to download all of your One Drive files that are saved on your cloud account. You can store these files in another storage area.
YuJa
If you have created content in YuJa, please download your files by accessing YuJa from the single sign-on platform https://login.moravian.edu. Click YuJa and then highlight a folder by clicking on it. Click the More Actions drop-down menu and select Download Folder. This will then give you the ability to download all content in that folder or to select individual files. Once you have selected your media click the Request Media button. You will receive an email with a link to download your media.
Adobe
Please note that you will lose access to your Creative Cloud account subscription. This means that the programs available through this will stop working unless the subscription is continued by your own funding. Files are generally stored locally (on the computer) by default and will not be affected by this change. If you store your files in the cloud, please download them to a storage area. Please see this video on how to download your files.
The access to the app will be removed shortly after graduating. Please see the above notes for backing up your files and deciding if you want to re-purchase the app.
Security
Moravian University doesn’t provide security software for student Macs. The University strives to provide a secure operating environment by securing the networks and services that we offer to students.
You need to take a holistic approach to securing your data and privacy. Please read our information security section of the IT website for steps you can take to protect yourself: https://www.moravian.edu/it/information-security
Item number 6 on the Information Security web page addresses protecting your computer. Here are 3 potential solutions for you to use to protect your Mac (this is a just a list - no order of preference is implied):
Avast does offer the free version, but it would be best to purchase their product to get full protection if you decide to use Avast. Here is a site you can use if you want to research this further: https://www.tomsguide.com/best-picks/best-mac-antivirus.
Additionally, you always need to install OS updates. Apple puts out these updates to improve the usability of their software and to fix security issues with their software.
