Zoom: How to sign in

(iPad instructions see below)

Signing into your local Zoom account, which you generally only need to do once, will allow you to take advantage of numerous features like personalized virtual backgrounds and adjusting your audio settings to reduce background noise.  

It will also ensure that when you join a meeting where the host is pre-assigned breakout rooms you will be correctly assigned to a room.

Open your local Zoom application on your computer by clicking on the Finder On the Mac Shape

Once open, click on zoom.us in the upper left corner of your screen and then select Sign In.  (If it says Sign Out then you are already signed in)

NOTE: To be sure you are signed in properly using the SSO option (single sign-on), Sign Out and follow the directions below. It is also a good idea to Check for Updates to be sure that you are running the most recent version.

Type your Moravian email address or “moravian” if prompted for the company domain

Whenever you join a Zoom meeting you will be asked to launch zoom.us.  

Since you usually just close the local application and don’t sign out, you will automatically be signed in already.

Signing into the iPad app:

Download and install Zoom through the App store on your iPad.

Open Zoom and tap the Sign In button at the bottom.

Choose the SSO option.

Type your Moravian email address or “moravian” if you are prompted for the company domain.  It should read moravian.zoom.us and then tap the Go button.

Sign in with your Moravian NetID credentials (this only needs to be done once and will ensure that your email is matched with the correct breakout room).

On the next screen tap Open for the question “Open this page in “Zoom”? 

Tap the Join button and type in the Meeting ID provided by the meeting host 

NOTE: Do not change your default name that appears in this screen as this is how you will be recognized for the pre-assigned breakout rooms.

Tap Join with Video.

Choose Call using Internet Audio.

When you are prompted, join the breakout room.

Once in the breakout room, you may tap the Share Content button at the top of the screen to share any of the following:
