Zinczenko New Media Center in Reeves Library
How to get started:
Turn on camera
Turn on monitor on top of camera
On the table, switch on the following:
Ross video switcher
Small video monitor/recorder (looks identical to monitor on top of camera)
Audio mixer
Audio delay (to the right of the mixer)
24” monitor next to video switcher
Adjust lights as needed
Press each “Fixtures” button so they’re all green
From left to right, lights are 1 through 6
Each light uses 2 faders: first fader is for brightness, second for focus.
Light 1 = Fader 1 & 2. Light 2 = Faders 3 & 4.. and so on.
Bank A = Lights 1-4 (Faders 1-8)
Bank B = Lights 5-6 (Faders 1-4)
Once the Ross switcher is finished powering up, press all three 1 buttons on the left side.
Make sure Phantom Power is turned on (upper right red LED)
Keep the Main Mix at appx. 12-o’clock
Adjust bottom row Level knobs and Mute buttons as needed.
1 = Boom mic
2 = Green mic cable (for lapel or other use)
3 = Brown mic cable (for lapel or other use)
Mute or turn down channels you’re not using (minimized noise)
Connect your MacBook to the USB-C capture adapter that is connected to the small video monitor in front of the video switcher. Select the HDMI Capture device in your recording software for both video and audio (otherwise you may end up recording your Mac’s internal mic).
